Into A New Paradise- Part 4

Drew and Ali walked in silence for a few minutes, which seemed an eternity to both of them, "So...ah, how'd you get the part in the video?" Drew asked, regretting the words as soon as they were out of his mouth. "I sent some pics over to the casting people, and they just asked me to come in. And that's that" she said, smiling at him encouragingly. For some reason, being around this guy whom she barely knew made her more talkative. She wanted to have a conversation with him, but she couldn't think of anything to say.
"That's cool" Drew said, "It'll be a lot of fun."
"Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it"
"Yep"
"So..." Ali mumbled. This really wasn't going well.
"Want to head back?" Drew asked, hoping he could find the courage to ask her to do something with him. "Sure, that's a good idea" Ali agreed. He hates me, he's obviously trying to get rid of me....this is just freaking wonderful...whatever possessed me to just invite myself on this walk? she told herself. Drew cleared his throat nervously, "So..um..what are you doing tomorrow?" he asked, trying to keep the fear and hope from being too obvious. Ali looked at him blankly, was he asking her on a date? Before she could answer, he spoke again.

"I'm sure you've got something much more interesting to do, but the other guys and I were thinking of going out tomorrow night"
Oh...so it wasn't a date. She tried to keep the disappointment out of her voice, "Sure, where are you going?" Drew grinned, "Actually, we're gonna go play mini-golf and stuff like that" Ali laughed, "Sounds like fun! I haven't done anything like that in a long time!" she said enthusiastically. Even if it wasn't a date, she'd have fun away.

By this time, they had reached the hotel and Drew walked her up to her room, "So I'll see you tomorrow" he said, not wanting to leave. "Yeah, bright and early" she said, making a face. Drew smiled. He already loved being around her, she had a great sense of humor, and she was brave enough to go golfing with probably four of the most competitive guys ever. Maybe he'd get up the courage to ask her out somewhere tomorrow night, "Of course! You don't like getting up early?" he joked.
"Oh, it just makes my day" she smiled, maybe she should ask him if he wanted to do something.... Drew impulsively reached for her hand, looking her in the eyes, "I'll call you tomorrow, and tell you the times" he said in a low voice. She had to feel the chemistry.... Ali met his gaze, "Sure, thanks a lot Drew" she said, gently squeezing his hand a little.
