Into A New Paradise- Part 3

Drew sat in the hotel room that night, staring blankly at the t.v.
"NO! NO! PASS IT THE OTHER WAY!" Nick yelled at the screen, as if that would make his team win.
"NO! NO! KEEP GOING!" Justin and Jeff yelled.
"Drew? Come on, back me up man, they need help!" Nick pleaded.
Drew looked at him, "What? What are you all yelling about?"
The heads turned to look at Drew, "Um..Sprout? Where have you been? Under a rock?" Jeff asked, in what he thought was a tactful manner.
"Nothing" Drew said, shrugging off the inquiry, "I was just wondering why you were all yelling."
"Oh...he's thinking of someone...." Nick said, recognizing the look on Drew's face. "Huh?" Drew asked. "Awww, Drew's got a thing for Ali..." Justin smiled, "I think its good for you" he encouraged. Drew frowned, he didn't really have a thing for her..it was something else, "Whatever man, I'm gonna go walk around" he said, pulling his familiar baseball cap over his eyes and standing up. "Want some company?" Jeff asked. "Nah, that's ok" he responded.

Drew walked aimlessly downstairs, not really knowing where he was going or why. He made his way outside and out to the beach, where Wayne had said they would be doing the shooting for Jeff's scene in the video. Setting off in one direction, he walked along the water's edge, oblivious to the waves gently lapping on the shore. The more the thought about it, the more confused he became. There was something about Ali. Even though he had said maybe five words to her, max, he had felt something. But had she? Was it all just wishful thinking? But she looked like she had felt something too. And this was getting him absolutely nowhere. Maybe he could ask her out or something? Would that be too forward? He barely knew her! "Drew...get your act together" he muttered to himself, "Stop acting like a kid"
"Hey, mind if I join you?" a familiar voice asked.  Drew stopped dead in his tracks, "NO! I mean, no, I don't mind, you can walk with me if you want" he said, stumbling over the words. Ali smiled at him, the knot in her stomach dissolving slightly, "Thanks"
