Into A New Paradise- Part 1

Drew sighed, leaning back in his chair as he closed his eyes. It had been another grueling day, as usual. A radio show this morning, an in-store appearance, shooting a show for some tv show, he couldn't even remember which one, and then, a concert. Small wonder he felt as if he had been run over by a truck. Despite all little annoyances that plagued him with his job, he wouldn't trade anything for it. It was true, he really was married to his job. That thought brought a bittersweet memory with it. He had thought that she had understood the touring, the demands of it, the pressures brought on by being so far away from each other. She had said she understood, and that they'd make it through the tour. But....times change and people change with them. She had broken things off with him. She said the stress was too much, and it would be best for both of them if they could just move on, even though she'd never forget him. He sighed again...it was hard, and he wanted someone who would be there for him, and he'd be there for her. Whoever she was, she had to be out there, didn't she?

"We have to pick our next single" Jeff said, sinking into the couch on the tour bus. "I know, I know..last time we tried...hey, what did happen the last time we picked the single?" Nick asked. Drew shrugged, "I don't know...we probably all got in an argument over it" "Oh ...yeah, that's what happened" Nick nodded. Justin looked around the bus, "But we already did pick the single" he said seriously. "We did? No we didn't" Drew argued, "I would've remembered that" "No, I know we did" Justin responded. Nick looked worried, "What song was it? Did we really decide?" Jeff looked around, "If Mr. Organized doesn't remember it, then what makes you so sure we did pick?" he asked Justin, not really believing his words. Justin couldn't hold back his laughter, "HA!" "What's wrong with him?" Drew asked, frowning. Jeff shrugged, "I guess he's finally cracked. I always wanted to see what it looked like when someone had a nervous breakdown." "No, I gotcha though! I had you all going there!" Justin continued to laugh. "What are you talking about?" Nick demanded. "We didn't pick the song...geez, you guys need to lighten up a little bit" Justin said, finally calming down. Jeff groaned, "That was pitiful Justin...just pitiful" he said, throwing a nearby pillow at him. Justin easily avoided the pillow that Jeff had thrown half-heatedly, "Hey, I thought it was funny" "Yeah, cause you've got no sense of humor" Nick said, trying not to laugh..it was kinda funny in a way. "Drew? You ok?" Justin asked, noticing for the first time Drew seemed a little bit out of it. "I'm fine" Drew said, in what he hoped was a normal voice. "Are you thinking about A--" Jeff started to say, before Nick shot him a look. "I meant are you thinking about the album" he corrected himself. Drew just looked at him, "Right Jeff" "So what song?" Nick asked, quickly saving Drew from anymore questions. "Still? Everyone likes Still" Jeff suggested. "That's' cause its your favorite song" Justin laughed. "So? Everyone still likes it" "What about "I Do"?" Nick thought aloud, "We should release a slow song" "Yeah, Nick's actually right, we should release " I Do" that's my vote anyways" Drew agreed. "Justin?" Nick asked. "Yeah, we can always release "Still" later, if that's ok with Jeff" Jeff nodded, "Sure! Think about the video we could make for that song!" "Damn Jeff! Are you ever gonna get the hint that the women who are in our videos aren't interested?" Nick asked laughing. "Hey, they do too!" "No, they don't!" "Yeah they do!"
